What makes some card valuable?

Value comes down to supply and demand, influenced by popularity, condition, and scarcity.

How can I value my collection?

The biggest mistake people make is checking asking prices rather than actual sales prices. Anyone can ask anything for their cards. That doesn't mean they can sell them. Free tools like 130point.com can assist.

About Andrew

I collected hockey and baseball cards religiously as a kid in the 1980s. When I went to university in the 1990s, I stopped collecting, but returned to the hobby in 2020. The first thing I did was sell through my childhood collection. Doing so taught me a lot of lessons, and when I finished, I realized that I missed it.That experience made me start looking for other collections to buy. I love doing this. It allows me to learn about cards I would never have seen before. It has allowed me to learn about cards that were released well before my childhood collection, and before my time!I am a sports nut and sports historian. I love old stories, and sports card are such an integral part of telling those old stories and keeping them alive.
